The broad split is this: Nassau and Paradise Island have the infrastructure, variety, and convenience of a full resort destination; the Out Islands trade that convenience for seclusion, better water, and a pace that actually slows down. Nassau and Paradise Island
Nassau anchors the country's largest concentration of hotels, with properties ranging from mid-range chains on Cable Beach to flagship luxury resorts.
The Cove at Atlantis sits on Paradise Island, about 12.4 miles from Nassau's Lynden Pindling International Airport (NAS). With 600 suites and access to 21 restaurants, it functions as a self-contained destination. Rates started at $580 per night as of early 2026.
Rosewood Baha Mar sits on Cable Beach, 6.2 miles from NAS. It offers 226 rooms and suites with access to 40 restaurants and bars across the broader Baha Mar complex, plus a Jack Nicklaus-designed golf course. Rates started at $1,250 per night as of early 2026. Baha Mar is undertaking a $700 million resort expansion, with groundbreaking in August 2026.
Paradise Breeze Nassau, Curio Collection by Hilton, is expected to open in 2028 on West Bay Street, 3 miles from the airport. The 11-story property will have 125 rooms with a 15,000 square-foot spa, padel and squash courts, a 5,000 square-foot infinity pool, and three dining venues including an all-day restaurant, rooftop specialty restaurant, and pool bar. It marks the Curio Collection's debut in the Bahamas.
Paradise Island: Ocean Club
The Ocean Club, a Four Seasons Resort, occupies 36 acres on Cabbage Beach on Paradise Island, about 12.4 miles from NAS. It has 107 rooms, suites, and villas. At rates starting around $1,950 per night as of early 2026, it sits at the top of Nassau-area pricing. The property's scale and beach position make it one of the quieter options in the Paradise Island corridor despite its proximity to Atlantis.
The Hartford Wing, originally opened in 1962, is undergoing renovations expected to debut October 2026. The refresh covers 24 guestrooms and 2 suites with ocean views. Kamalame Cay
Kamalame Cay is a private island off Andros, reached by seaplane or helicopter from Nassau, or by a combination of a 20-minute taxi and 5-minute ferry. It is about 12.4 miles from NAS and has 22 rooms and suites. The property carries the Bahamas' only overwater spa. Rates started at $595 per night as of early 2026.
Caerula Mar Club
Caerula Mar Club is on South Andros, 2.5 miles from Congo Town Airport. It has 18 rooms and 4 villas and does not accept children under 12, which sets the tone: this is a quiet adults-oriented retreat rather than a family property. Rates started at $450 per night as of early 2026.
The Cove, Eleuthera
The Cove sits on 40 acres with 29 villas, suites, and cottages, about 12.4 miles from North Eleuthera Airport (ELH). Rates started at $1,950 per night as of early 2026.
Pink Sands Resort
Pink Sands Resort is on Harbour Island, reached by a 5-minute water taxi from ELH. It has 20 cottages, villas, and residences. Rates started at $1,782 per night as of early 2026. Harbour Island's pink-sand beach is the draw here, and Pink Sands sits close to it.
Fowl Cay Resort
Fowl Cay Resort is a private-island all-inclusive in the Exumas, a 45-minute flight from Nassau and 1.2 miles from Staniel Cay Airstrip. The property covers 50 acres with 6 villas and a maximum of 28 guests at any time. All-inclusive rates started at $17,700 per week as of early 2026. That per-week pricing reflects the all-inclusive model: food, drinks, and activities are bundled. For a group filling multiple villas, the effective per-person cost is more competitive than the headline figure suggests.
Kahari Resort
Kahari Resort is on Stocking Island, Exuma, reached from George Town Airport (GGT) by a 15-minute taxi followed by a 5-minute boat ride. It has 12 bungalows.
Practical Notes
Travel time to Out Island properties is real and should be budgeted. A Nassau property like Baha Mar or Atlantis is 6 to 12 miles from the airport. A property like Fowl Cay involves a 45-minute domestic flight plus a boat transfer. Factor those connections into arrival and departure day planning.
